  Room was very clean without harsh chemicals and lingering smells of chemical cleaning. Room had been painted since our last visit and a bedside lamp repaired. Also, front stairs had new linoleum installed, the old was getting very worn down. Simple supplies furnished, but that is all we required--nice to have a full apartment with full kitchen.

  We already knew this--the stairs in front and back are very steep, getting harder for us each year (Well, what isn't...). Back steps have a few challenging places, but it's a 100+ year old building. Wood back step railings could use some sanding of rough areas.

  Seems like it was recently partially renovated. Nice deck overlooking lake. The room was clean.

  Overall the property is tired and dated. While certain aspects of the room were updated, the overall feel is old. The rear door to the small balcony is an interior door instead of a typical insulated exterior door. The driveway to the lower lever rooms (closer to the lake) is in rough shape. The restaurant/bar was not open on our arrival and departure dates and looked very dated.

  We didn't do the breakfast. It was very expensive for a buffet.

  The interior hallways were very drab, gray, worn. The room colors also were drab - felt like a morgue. Toilet didn't flush well. Light switch in the bathroom was slow. We hadn 't looked to see if the clock's alarm was set and it went off at 6 am until we figured out how to use it.

  Too many kids inside the hot tub. Parents not watching them. Kids were tracking sand and dirt into the hot tub. I wish my group was able to enjoy the hot tub and would have liked if the staff enforced the rules as it pertains to kids unsupervised in the hot tub. We went to the bar to redeem our drinks with the tokens provided. The bartender didn’t speak to us so we stood there for 15 mins with zero help. By the time she got around to taking orders, she ignored us and started with the people who walked in way after us. We ran out of time and had to leave.
