I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

We had a nice breakfast with a variety of options including yogurt, breads and spreads, scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, vegetables and boiled eggs. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. The Inn is charming. We were in the area to watch a bike race. We were able to walk to and from the gondola base.”

  The room is quite large; it's nice to be in such a spacious place. Very good kitchen, with large table and everything you need to cook. Bed very comfortable.

  Only two small substandard towels, no bath mat. No welcome mat--difficult to keep things clean and dry on rainy days. There was some dog hair on the couch, and lots under the bed. It's clearly a pet-friendly accommodation.

  The Worst Hotel Stay I’ve Ever Had – Avoid at All Costs From the moment we arrived, our experience was a complete nightmare. We walked into our room to find a large puddle of water all over the bathroom floor. After some investigation, we realized the bathroom was not functioning properly. We called the front desk three separate times to report the issue and received no resolution. Eventually, we went down to the front desk in person and explained the situation to the staff member, who showed zero concern. Her response was that she had “texted her manager,” and that there was nothing else she could do. I asked if we could switch rooms, and she simply said, “We don’t have any available.” No apology, no effort to help. To make matters worse, both nights we stayed, we were bitten by bugs in the bed—multiple times. It was disgusting and unacceptable. We ended up having to go out and buy our own sheets and blanket just to feel somewhat protected. This place was beyond terrible. The room was not clean, the staff was unhelpful, and the overall experience was miserable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone under any circumstances. Do not stay here.

  We were there for 2 nights while on our honeymoon, visiting Grand Teton National Park. The hotel was very old and just sketchy feeling. There was NO elevator, the "hot" breakfast was just a pancake machine. Nothing made our stay very nice or worth $383/night. We booked a single king bed and got a queen. We were VERY disappointed. And luckily we just kept reminding ourselves it was just a bed to sleep in as we were in the park the from dawn to dusk.
