I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

The host helped us with tours but note that there are many tour companies around town that offered different pricing options. If you want convenience, book through the reception.”

  The front desk staff, especially Jesus, were very friendly and helpful. Great accommodations for our dog, with a dog bed and water bowl provided in the room being a very nice touch. Spacious studio room and nice kitchen area. Breakfast was very good, lovely dining room with scenic views.

  I was so pleasantly surprised by this little gem. Very friendly and family-owned, very clean and updated rooms with comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities. Nice big bathtub for soaking. A really great value for a Friday night on a holiday weekend.

  The location is on a busy corner, right next to the onramp to the highway. There aren't really any GOOD restaurants or stores within a 2-3 block walk. But it's not as noisy as I expected, actually!

  We moved bedding and a bracelet fell out meaning they didn’t not change the bedding since god knows when. Floor had tried baby Berber puffs, and lastly under the tissue box there was money meaning they didn’t wipe surfaces down. We stay in hotels a lot and this is all a first. Windows were very very loud and loose and didn’t let us sleep

  My neighbor had a dog and he howled for several hours. My neighbor also cooked on a grill and had a hangout with him and 5 other friends drinking and being loud. The parking lot is hard to drive through in long truck.

  Pool closed, exercise room disappointed, room was not clean—rug was not well vacuumed, overall wiped down but has not had a deeper cleaning in a very long time, multiple items in room were broken including fire detector hanging on wires from the ceiling. Could easily tell not enough cleaning staff. Elevator walls covered in handprints; every wall needed repainting and multiple room doors showed years of wear and tear. Old and unkept. Once upon a time, a 3-star hotel was where you had pride to bring your family—this hotel, like others in the area, get by because of lack of competition rather than investment and upkeep. Always feel bad for staff who do a great job with so little.
