The price of the hotel was good relative to others in the neighborhood. Great location. Felt safe. For our purposes it worked -- we spent very little time in the room -- just slept and showered.

No air conditioning is definitely an issue -- they were up front about that, but it was warm. And our room was street facing, so it was loud all night with sirens and drag racing. Again, not necessarily the hotels fault, but even with my ear plugs in i had a hard time sleeping. Bathroom was very cramped -- shower is tiny and the toilet is so close to the wall that you almost cannot sit. Anyone that is a little overweight or just generally larger would probably not be able to use the toilet and shower would be nearly impossible.

The room itself had a fantastic layout and would have been perfect for a 3 week stay recovering from surgery that I have coming up in NYC.

Neighbors were loud. Doors closing were loud. To the point where I was on the phone and my friend thought other people were talking in my room and coming in and out of my room. Out of the multiple staff I spoke with, only housekeeping was nice. I get it that it’s NYC, but it’s also hospitality. It was a $500/night room at the Marriot but felt like a Motel 6. Highly unsatisfied.

Need to put significant efforts on cleanliness. There are roaches everywhere including the dining area. The coffeemaker seemed to be in a bad shape. Breakfast options are extremely limited.

We were not told ahead of time that the pool will be closed for private event. We could have book somewhere else. When we went back to go to the beach club, we were told that they close at 5pm. That information should have been mentioned to us. I mentioned my concern to the reception desk, I also mentioned that the coffee cup in the room is too small that it overflowed when I made coffee - it does not match the lids also & no stirrer. She apologized but did not find a way to rectify it. She is not even sure what time the pool is open the next day because I was told that it opens at 8am. Glad we did not go at 8am because it opens at 9am. When we checked-out, I was told that she will email my receipt but until now no receipt received. The pool staff & Executive Housekeeper was friendly when we came to the pool that they are getting ready to open. At 10:30am, Housekeeping knocked & told us the check-out is at 11am which gave us a feeling of beinh rushed to leave the room. I complained to booking.com but no response from management. Very poor customer service.

The cleanliness was not good. Needs a good bleaching. There were spiders and bugs in all rooms. Mold in one of fridges. Needed to be vacuumed. No towel for floor after shower. The price what high for the rooms. We had stayed in hotels all week for travel and this place was the highest we paid. Our mirror had "Happy Valentines Day" written on it? - never cleaned.
