Very central location and walking distance from Paddington. As soon as we stepped inside, we could tell it was a luxury and accommodating hotel. We spent 6 days in london, staying at The Tower hotel which is walking distance to Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Tower tube station and Jump on/off stop. Small room but great breakfast. Our goal was to see a wide range of attractions. Our best experiences revolved around learning to use the Underground (tube) system ASAP, and getting a 3-day LondonPass. We anjoyed: Tower of london (crown jewels and armory) and the Tower Bridge Engine Tour. We rode the London Eye and went to the top of the Shard. Spent a day at the Science Museum and checked out the Globe Theater, Greenwhich Observatory and CuttySark. Used the Hop-On/Off bus for 2 days and the Uber Boat for one day. All included in the London Pass. We added a day trip to Stonehenge. We did not get on an "inner circle tour" but the regular access is still pretty good. Recommend getting an early start each day. Most attractions open at 10 and close at 5. Things get much busier in the afternoon. Plan to be at your first attraction at 10, then lunch and then visit another attraction before you get worn out. The Hop on/hop off bus is good for general sightseeing, but it is somewhat unpredicatble and can get stuck in london's killer traffic, so don't use it to get to desinations. Use it to fill in your idle times. BigBus comes with London Pass. They all look simmilar so get the correct route map. The Uber Boat is also a great way to get to specific attractions. It's fast and direct, but be prepared in case there is a cancellation. Best advice... learn the Underground system, get an Oyster card to tap-on/off. Choose a tube App and use it to plan your trips. Taxi from the airport to hotel cost 140 Pounds and took nearly 2 hours because of the bad morning rush hour traffic. Our return trip on the tube took 1:30 and cost 14 pounds. You can avoid most stairs if you have bags. Use your App to find the "stair free" route.

London is a great place to spend a few days, for many reasons, but on this particular trip, we were just passing through. Both Uber taxi drivers were good enough, although on the outward journey, we were dropped off at the wrong hotel, apparently a common error as the 2 hotels have similar names.

London is a big city and it would take a long time to see everything so the best way is to pick your trips out and plan to do some in the same area on the same day. As a solo traveller it's good to just stroll and take time out at a cafe or find some good food. Avoid the main family attractions or go in the afternoon. I pick an area to stay in and explore there but usually always find my way to South Bank. My favourite areas are those with more pedestrian space and trees. Covent Garden, Notting Hill, Soho all offer lots of variety.

Wow I was really surprised by London!

Wow I was really surprised by London! My childhood memory was of a dirty, busy and unfriendly city. I travelled with my special needs kids and found the tube staff and people around London to be really friendly and accommodating. We actually visited London to attend a relaxed/ dementia/ special needs friendly performance of the Barber of Seville at Holland Park which did not disappoint. The staff at the opera were lovely and very helpful. We used the tube to do a very quick tour of some iconic sights including the Tower of London/ London Bridge, Parliament and Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. It was a very quick trip but we accomplished a lot considering my kid’s difficulties. I would recommend London to families with special needs.

Unfortunately I would not recommend the hotel, it was very dirty in my room mould in the shower room and hair there was no tv remote and my room was right next to reception office and was very loud lots of banging doors and staff looked miserable . I’m not one to complain but I was on a trip to London and just wanted somewhere early to get to and stay at but unfortunately I will not be coming back , also took photos of room for proof . Hotel has a lovely feel to it from the moment you walk through the door. Very traditional English decor giving it a historical, luxurious vibe. Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel is in a very good location for my needs on that visit. Close to Paddington Station with over ground and underground rail links and close to many eating places but not many food shops except some good stores on Paddington Station concourse. The price is reasonable for inner London hotels. Security felt good with a locked front door and a person usually sat in the office by the door. It was warm and the noise levels were quite low.

The room was always clean and so was the bathroom. The lounge area was small yet amazing. The hotel has certain touches you do not find in other hotels. It feels homey. The owner cared very much about easy check-in/ check-out and ensured we had everything we needed while our stay. The apartment is located a few minutes away from the tower bridge in a quiet area. Perfect for a few days of sight seeing London. For London the apartment is much more spacious and modern than most of the hotels - and considering the location, actually a real bargain.
