Loved the staff, the coffee shop, Mahina & Sons. Overall vibe/decor was cool. It was authentically vintage and the older age of the building definitely helped with the vibe. Kind of like a cool refurbished motel. But the staff was super friendly and helpful. It seems like the only dog friendly hotel in Waikiki, which was nice.

The parking was not convenient and was a bit of a hassle. Would be much better if it was on site. Didn’t love the location - really busy and loud and dirty…but that’s Waikiki I guess. Could tell hotel was older building, so when we had the tsunami warning, we evacuated out of hotel and to friends house. Urgency about tsunami warning and directions to evacuate came a bit late.

4th time staying at this hotel. This stay we were in one of the apartments that we had last year. We had complimented management on our stay the last visit and highly recommended the bed in our room be repaired because you literally sunk to the middle of the bed, as if there was no support in the middle of bed. Well of course forgetting how bad the bed was, and having the same apartment this year, our sleep was limited because of the bed and it wasn't great needing pain meds because of poor sleep. In our second 1 bedroom, 2 bed apartment my son found a bug in the bed. The staff was wonderful in getting them into a room promptly, but the whole experience wasn't great having to move rooms and wondering if they were going to have symptoms. I personally didn't see ‘the bug’ but with internet research knew why they changed their rooms so quickly. Also when they were moved the second room was clean except a full fridge of food. 😔 I hate to even write this review because the facility is wonderful, with such convenience to the boardwalk, wonderful, kind, accommodating staff, 2 pools, outside grill area and patio…….just wonderful. Sadly this was our experience this time around. Hopefully these mishaps can be fixed by double checking rooms before guest arrive (the full fridge ) and checking on reviews from guests and looking into complaints that were mentioned (the bed). As far as the bug goes, we understand things happen and we were promptly moved into another room and everyone had no symptoms. Thankful for that!

False advertising. They advertise ‘Alamo views’ from the room. It was key factor in choosing my room. Due to construction, which has been going on for some time, the view of the Alamo is almost completely obstructed. Their website and posting on Booking.com should not advertise a view or at least note that it is severely obstructed. The apathetic hotel staff even told me I had a view and did not care when I told them the situation.

Booked non-smoking and was given a badly smoked in room, no trash cans in room, no coffee pot, but had coffee!! I even contacted the front desk and they just ignored me
