I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

  - “The location was perfect. Just a few blocks from the Anne Frank House. It was in the middle of the historic district and canals. Not far from the train station. The hotel is in a historic zone which restricts modifications. There is no elevator and the stairs are so steep they are almost a ladder. The staff were happy to carry my bags for me. The room was very small which is consistent with the historic quarter. If you want a large room and an elevator you should stay in a new hotel outside of the historic zone. I personally loved it and would definitively stay there again. The breakfast was great and I especially loved the coffee. The staff was great!”

Owner made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Owner took the time to ask about our plans and make sure we knew how to get where we wanted to go and made a good recommendation for a traditional polish meal within walking distance. We had a nice breakfast with a variety of options including yogurt, breads and spreads, scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, vegetables and boiled eggs. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. The Inn is charming. We were in the area to watch a bike race. We were able to walk to and from the gondola base.”
