This is a great little rustic getaway right in the middle of some great national forests, state parks, and lakes just north of Houston. If you like easy access to the outdoors - including all the open space and creek access on the property. We loved seeing and petting the goats, who run out to the fence like dogs when you pull in. And you can't beat the farm fresh eggs from the chickens on property. We also loved sitting outdoors by the little water feature and reading in the mornings when it was cool. We loved grilling outside for dinner in the evenings and although we didn't have a fire there was wood and a fire pit available just 50 feet from the door.

The kitchenette could have been a little better appointed with some larger drinking cups and folks should be aware that there isn't a freezer in the mini fridge. If you can get by with a hot plate, a microwave, and a charcoal grill, you'll be in great shape.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and you could find a pillow to match your needs. The bathroom was very clean and there were plenty of electrical outlets.

The MOD Kevin has poor customer service skills. Sam, the GM didn't return any of my calls about the stay and refused to refund our money. That was a fast $82.00 that they made off of us. The room did not have working air conditioning. There was mold on the wall, the carpet by the mini fridge had stains, and the bathroom door was butt against the toilet. Absolutely no room in that bathroom. The guests staying at this property were shady, and it was apparent that this was a drug hotel.

Premises look beautiful, rooms are very subpar. You are literally door to door with your neighbors and can hear everything they say. Screaming kids, loud playing music, slamming doors. Total bill was ridiculously expensive!!!! Food onsite sucks and nothing is included except for water and coffee.
