  We had our reservation made but it was not until we arrived that we were informed we could not be accommodated because they had booked all our room types and they refused to give us another room… We did not make a cancellation but were charged half of the stay when we left the hotel. We not only drove hours to the hotel to be turned away and charged but we then had to drive from Norfolk to Virgina Beach to find accommodations and pay double of what our reservation was!

  Room was fine but the check in was horrible both times we stayed there. There were only 2 ppl to check guests in and there was a line of guests. Also we felt the (male) check in person was very rude not accommodating and unfriendly I don't think liked his job very much. ALSO I left an item in our room and called the next day and probably for a week+ after check out. Each time I was told that they were very busy and did not have time to check in any lost items from housekeeping and to call back which I did for over a week!!! REALLY I felt this 80.00 item was probably left in the bathroom or possibly on the bed. Finally after calling every day I called and asked to speak with the GM. The manager said her job was to field calls for him and she would not put a call through to him nor would she give me any info on how to reach Mark Sterbens and that he was to busy to speak with me. Since when will a GM not speak to a paying customer who specifically asks to speak with him when an issue can not be resolved? THIS IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE, I was told by the hotel manager some young woman that they didn't have it and that it was probably thrown out as they get so many items left over. I did ask her if they found a diamond ring would they throw it out especially if someone had called numerous times to find that item?? She finally agreed to put an inquiry into the lost item and when I pressed her to get a response she basically told me I was being unreasonable and she kept interrupting me. Needless to say she never got back to me. VERY upset with her customer service. She really needs a lesson in listening to customers.
