We were traveling to see family, and the hotel provided for our basic needs, which is all we needed for our trip. The location is excellent and provides easy access to interstate 81.

There were several maintenance issues with the room, and the cleanliness was substandard. The microwave carousel and plate did not fit the microwave, so it did not rotate. Both of the USB ports at the nightstand were broken and did not work. Our room was on the ground floor, and the exterior window opened easily from the inside, which means it would not be that hard to open from the outside, which is a security risk to travelers, especially females traveling alone considering that the hotel is rather isolated. There was hair in the bathtub, and the top edge of mini surfaces had dust on it. The fitted sheet on one of the beds was put on inside out, and there were cigarette burns in both of the top comforters on the beds. There was an American gentleman at the front desk along with an African-American young lady when we checked in, and the man kept interrupting and over talking the woman when she would answer our questions. It was rather rude, and she did not need his assistance because she was providing the information we requested just fine on her own.

Most things were not plugged in when we got there. The fridge took a while to get cold. Makes me think it was plugged in not too long before we arrived. So just wish it was cold already. Otherwise it was a decent enough stay.

On the day I was supposed to check in, I experienced a sever case of food allergy or poisoning and was unable to do so. I attempted to contact the hotel directly to advise them that I would either be very late that night, or check in the next day, but NOT to cancel my reservation, as it was prepaid via your company. Unfortunately, I no live person ever answered the phone, even when I followed prompts to hit number 4 for the front desk. Since I was finally unable to check in on the original first day of my reservation, I called on the morning of April 16th, in order to advise the that I would check in and to confirm that my original reservation made via Booking.com was valid.. Once again, despite a number of attempts, I was unable to contact the front desk and was auto-routed to Extended Stay America Central Reservations. I explained my situation and asked if my reservation was still valid, since it was pre-paid through Booking.com and the agent said NO, we show you as a No-Show and your reservation is CANCELED and a NO-Show fee applied and that the only option would be to make a reservation through Extended Stay America and pay directly upon Check-In, which I had no choice but to do do. When I asked about the money I had paid to Booking.com, the agent advised that when they reflected me as a No-Show on the orevious day, my reservation was CANCELED and I would have to contact Booking.com, for a refund, minus a No-Show fee, since the cancelation would have returned the money paid to you.. When I asked the Assistant General Manager of the hotel about this, she simply said, "You have to deal with Booking.com, but they will not be easy, as they will try to hold on to the money. As of today, my Credit Card shows that I have paid both Booking.com and Extended Stay America fon the same hotel stay. Hopefully Booking.con can resolve this issue directly with Extended Stay America, rather then me having to resort to legal action.
