I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

Owner made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Owner took the time to ask about our plans and make sure we knew how to get where we wanted to go and made a good recommendation for a traditional polish meal within walking distance. We had a nice breakfast with a variety of options including yogurt, breads and spreads, scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, vegetables and boiled eggs. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. The Inn is charming. We were in the area to watch a bike race. We were able to walk to and from the gondola base.”

  Convenient, beds comfortable, staff quick to answer requests (needed an iron and a plunger, also more toilet paper) kids loved the slides slides!

Impressed with lactose free options for breakfast, but buffet wasn’t kept stocked (no sausage gravy for biscuits one day, butter kept in fridge so hard to spread. Had to look for utensils and coffee cups not kept stocked (found forks ready to be brought out but no staff so helped myself and brought out the container bringing big smiles to the small group looking for them, And when a staff person did come out they were quick to refill the shelf of coffee cups (the fact that I could get a real coffee cup made me very happy)!

  First when I went to take a shower there was dirty towels hanging in the shower used shampoo bottles used soap on the side of the tub stuck to it went out went to lay down my bed there was a really big cockroach 🪳 under the covers the TV didn't work most of the time it kept shutting off then when the storm came the power shut off from 10:00 to 2:00 in the morning and the breakfast wasn't very good cuz all they had was milk and cereal no juice no pancakes nothing

  The rooms were filthy, garbage over flowing in the laundry "room" had to wake up the front desk from his nap on the couch. Room was nothing like it was described as. The baseboards in the halls looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in years. The room had a sour smell in it. The hot tub didn't work. Washer starts but doesn't spin,clothes just sitting the washer for 35 mins the drains . Dryer works. Said there was cable TV yet couldn't get ot to work front desk couldn't be taken from his nap duties . Overall if you want to stay in a bed bug infested "trap house" feeling ran down hotel this is the place for you..
