It is a lovely city with lots of character and choices for food and drink. There is also a good array of visitor attractions and a rich history to the place. I was pleasantly surprised by the art scene not only current, but I discovered in its museum collections some Scottish artists from 1920s, 30s etc. that I was not aware of. Also cultural movements and societal - lost to offer. Would have loved to stay longer and actually explore its surroundings (walks or treks). For those who like to explore on foot: large streets, clean, safe - you can walk easily around the city despite the hilly setting. For those who like to use public transport - at this time (april 2024) the city is under a lot of upkeep and street repairs so it's not so reliable transport wise or as quick.

I went to university in Glasgow many years ago, it has changed a lot but is still very vibrant and buzzy! Lots of bars, coffee spots and restaurants to choose from. The West End is nicer than the City Centre and not too far out of the city to travel.
Recommend Rab Ha's for traditional Scottish food, Singl-End is a great brunch spot but booking is required.

As a solo traveller, from arrival, I was made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff and was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the rooms. The location is spot-on for anyone looking to explore the fantastic restaurants, bars and cafes in Finnieston, and just a ten-minute walk to both the West End and the city centre. The hotel's bar/restaurant was well managed and had fantastic live music, a bonus and a new music venue for Glasgow's talented musicians. I will definitely stay again. Thanks again, Robin and team!
The gentleman at reception on our arrival was lovely ,very friendly and helpful. He made a great first impression and made us feel very welcome .
The hotel was very clean ,our room was surprisingly quiet despite being very central in Glasgow city centre.
Very warm room which welcome after being out in a very cold Glasgow .
Very good value for money ! We would definitely stay again if we were planning on staying in Glasgow again.
Friendly staff, central location, lovely decor, clean rooms and reasonably priced. Guests benefit from discounted parking rates at a nearby car park (NCP - Oswald Street). I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Glasgow city centre. This is my third time staying at Motel One and I will definitely be back again in future.
Booked this hotel to attend the world pipeband championships in Glasgow green. Weve stayed here for the last 3 years now. Location is good. A little noisy but we expect that being right in the centre of Glasgow city centre.
The room wasn't up to the standard we remember from the previous 2 stays. The carpet wasn't very clean at all
The hotel's location on the edge of the city centre was perfect. The room and bathroom were a good size and very clean. The wifi was reliable and we loved the discreet nightlight that comes on when you get up during the night. The staff were friendly and helpful. The generous 12 noon checkout suited us perfectly.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The property is in a great location close to UG, Kelvingrove Park and Museum, and the great shops and restaurants of the West End. it was also a 20 minute walk to City Centre.
The hotel was a little run down but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful!
Lovely clean hotel. Well situated for a city centre visit and also very accessible to the Hydro and SEC via Glasgow Central which is not far away. Check in and check out was smooth. Friendly staff, clean room and all you needed in your room for your stay. Breakfast was excellent and was topped up regular.
The downstairs lobby was a little dingy but when you come out to the hotel on the 6th floor, it is bright and airy. The hotel puts out home made baked treats for visitors, reception was very nice, and the rooms clean. This was one of our best lodging on our trip to Scotland!
This was the cheapest hotel that we could find in Glasgow and for the price we paid it was grand. The location close to a couple of subway stations was great, ideal for getting into the city centre quickly. The restaurant and bar were good value, especially for the location
The hotel feels quite casual not very luxe but considering it’s the highest rated hotel in Glasgow I booked it. It was good but not great. The room wasn’t cozy enough and the ac made clicking sounds at night. The staff however were very friendly.
- central location within walking distance of the city centre and railway stations
- really helpful staff
- being allocated a room at the back of the property meant that it was a restful stay even though the hotel is situated in a busy area.
Quality hotel in the centre of Glasgow - good size room and bathroom with a bath. Excellent staff who are friendly and very helpful. Restaurant for breakfast on the top floor with a view over the city centre
Booked an overnight stay so we could attend a gig in Glasgow. The hotel was in a perfect location for all city centre services and was only a 10 walk to Audio for our gig. Would definitely book again.
