I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

  Location was at least where it was near family on short notice and has a lawn for my dog.

  Literally, everything else. The walls are so thin. The smell of the food people cook in their rooms. The pounding and noises on the walls because the beds are squeaking and too close to the walls. The ceiling is so thin, every step or music wakes you. Then, our fridge is gross and took 3 people to try to open it. The sound of the light/fan in our bathroom was so loud I felt bad using it at night. The AC barked at us the entire time it came on. The windows didn’t go higher than maybe two inches from rust (wanting fresh air vs AC). We were given 1 towel even though we noted 3 guests. Breakfast was only packages of muffins and not anything like pictured. Finally. The bedding is basically a sheet with another sheet (not something to keep anyone warm if they wanted it).

  Looks ok if you squint and don't look closely; Floors dirty; no toiletries other than small bar soap; poor lighting except in bathroom; sink clogged (cleared it myself); pillows were pretty much worthless, broken down, and lumpy; beds marginally comfortable; bedside table only on one side of bed; overall, one of my worst hotel ever experiences, and I am not one who demands or even prefers luxury accommodations. Will not stay here again...ever!

  I would say the best part of the this hotel is the convenience based on location. It is near both the sofi stadium and the intuit dome.

  The facilities were good how ever the staff manager who i’m assuming is the manager was horrible with the guest. It was a really packed hotel as the kendrick lamar and sza concert was at the sofi stadium near the hotel, this should’ve had the hotel really prepared for many guests however they were not and the waiting line to check in was 2 hours long by the time of check in and the manager did nothing to help check in guests as she just had one other staff checking in the guest. This should not be the case and led a horrible experience for the guests, if a employee is free no matter if it’s the manager or not they should help out with the check in not just stand there.
