London is a great city with lots of attractions.
London is a great city with lots of attractions. The tube system is busy but convenient to get to most places without undue delay. My advice for a week in London would be to do a day (1) in the West End and take in a show. A day (2) Thames Uber boat down the river taking in Battersea, Westminster, Tower Bridge, Tower, Canary Warf and Greenwich. A day (3) doing the markets of Nottinghill and Camden. A day (4) doing Knightsbridge, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square Oxford and Regent Steets and GreenPark and Hyde Park. A day (5) a trip to Henley on Thames via Windsor Castle and Maidenhead.Guest review byRobert GavinSouth Africa - 6.0

I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns with many derelict buildings. The most impressive building in the town is the Sikh Temple. The town is very busy with traffic but is fairly easy to navigate around. We stayed in a very pleasant guest house outside of town which was perfect for going to Leo's Music Venue. This is the only reason we came to Gravesend. We ate at The Three Daws pub which has been pretty good on both times we visited. Traditional British Pub with a good British Menu. We had breakfast at The Hot Rod American Diner in Northfleet which again was very good!Guest review byFlotsam & JetsamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Delightful old town with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Lovely old buildings, especially the almshouses and the church. Friendly people. Good eating places. Smashed avocado at The Pablo Lounge is excellent! Good location for catching a bus into Oxford or for exploring the area generally. Walks along river delightful.Guest review byPamelaUnited Kingdom - 2.0

The front desk was terrible and gave us a downgrade on our room and then told us there was nothing that could be done due to being sold out and because we used Bookings.com. We complained, asked for the manager and showed the pictures on a Superior room from their website and on our booking. He moved us to a family room, but it had 2 double beds and two chairs seating vs a Superior room has a king bed and a settee and a desk. It was not what we wanted, but it was better than the standard room with a king bed (incredibly small room) that they tried to put us in.Guest review byTrinaUnited States - 10.0

A good stop off town ‘Lechlade on Thames’ to visit local places like the Buscot National Trust Manor and gardens. Just a 2 minute drive to one of the canal locks ( St. John’s) and a walk along the tow path for an evening stroll.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I was in Pangbourne for a family event rather than to explore the town itself, but it made a great base. If you’re visiting from abroad or elsewhere in the UK, it’s ideally located – close to London for easy access, and just minutes from Reading, where you’ll find all the big shops, supermarkets, and anything else you might need. The town itself is charming and quintessentially British, with pretty cottages, lovely countryside, cosy pubs, and a nice selection of local shops and dining options. It would make a perfect peaceful base for visiting nearby places like Windsor, London, Reading, or even Stonehenge and Salisbury, which are just over an hour away.Guest review bySvenFrance - 6.0

Lots of local shops and easy access to Syon Park, but Isleworth railway station is closed to ALL trains due to engineering works. Rail replacement bus service was great on Sunday, but would have been very difficult on weekdays and Saturday due to extensive road works.Guest review bySandraSwitzerland
