The hotel was very easy to access, and the staff were extremely kind, careful, and attentive throughout our stay. They took great care of us and made us feel very welcome. The private onsen was wonderful, and the room was extremely clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated the comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, and the peaceful atmosphere. The food was excellent, with plenty of delicious dishes for both dinner and breakfast, including many local ingredients and specialties.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Japan and had a truly wonderful experience. The host were exceptionally polite and attentive, always ready to help with a warm smile. The room was spotless, well-designed, and offered a perfect balance of modern comfort and traditional Japanese touches. Everything in the bedroom was of high quality, which made our sleep extremely comfortable and restful. The location was excellent — from the hotel, it only takes a few minutes to walk to Lake Kawaguchiko, and the property itself offers stunning views of Mount Fuji. This combination made the stay feel both convenient and unforgettable. One of the highlights was the private onsen. While it didn’t have expansive views, it was thoughtfully prepared with every detail taken care of, providing us with everything we needed for a relaxing soak. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Breakfast was served in traditional Japanese style, and it was not only delicious but also prepared with great care. Every dish reflected the host’s dedication, using high-quality ingredients that made the meal feel truly special. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one truly stands out. It is not a mass-tourist property, but rather a boutique-style hotel that offers genuine, heartfelt service. Our host (pictured below) was incredibly kind, attentive to every detail, and always eager to help in any way possible. At times, he even anticipated our needs and thoughtfully arranged things so that we could enjoy the very best experience without having to worry about anything ourselves. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations and made my trip to Japan even more memorable. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable stay with authentic hospitality.

We loved staying at Tomoya Residence. It was a great experience. Our rooms very really spacious and nice. The staff at the hotel was amazing, very professional and friendly. We felt that all of our needs were 100% met. I would definitely book this hotel again.

This place is the bomb. Perfect location in the center of Kyoto - right next to two major public transit lines. Tons of eateries, bars, shops, great stuff to do. Short walk away from historic center and Gion district. The suites are spacious and very well furnished. Nice kitchenette, great bathroom. We could basically live there happily. All of these are set up Japanese-style for families or groups traveling together - which is why our suite had 3 large beds. We would not stay there with anyone else because we're used to more privacy, but it was perfect for us traveling as a couple.

Everything was exceptional! Driving to this place made us a little apprehensive, but after parking, the warm inviting ochre stucco walls and noren entry allayed all concerns. This a consumate Japanese fusion experience. Everything from the engaging reception to the artfully refurbished room and personal hinoki bath meant pure relaxation. Then there was the dinner which unfolded like a traditional Kaiseki meal, but contained the most inventive and delicious dishes. Oishikatta!

We loved our stay at this hotel. The one bedroom suite was perfect for our stay with a toddler. The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast which we paid for at the Belcomo was great. The location is really wonderful, easy to walk to many areas and the nearest subway.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The staff were super helpful and helped us arrange taxis when we needed them to get around. I speak a little Japanese but Google translate was key to clearing up things like the laundry machines and where we wanted to go around the island. Incredible bed, with the hot tub on the balcony overlooking the ocean and the entire bathroom making this the most luxurious place we stayed on our entire 2 week vacation to Japan. I would love to come back and spend more time with the sunsets here.
